Overview – At Living Word Reformed Church, we take a godly view of the origins and uses of our wealth, remembering that it is “more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35) and that “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). What we give is a token of our whole selves, an expression of love from the collected heart of our membership as God’s people. Therefore, we give generously and regularly, not under compulsion, but as an act of Christian worship (1 Peter 2:5; cf. 2:9). The offering is collected by our deacons and used to support the ministries of Living Word Reformed Church.Giving money is simply a token of our adherence to Jesus’s example of self-giving love. We can only ask members and friends to give as they are able to give (2 Cor 8:2-3; Acts 11:29).
